چکیده

Liquid-phase detection of biological targets utilizing magnetic marker and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer is shown. In this method, magnetic markers are coupled to the biological targets, and the binding reaction between them is detected by measuring the magnetic signal from the bound markers. Detection can be done in the liquid phase, i.e., we can detect only the bound markers even in the presence of unbound (free) markers. Since the detection principle is based on the different magnetic properties between the free and bound markers, we clarified the Brownian relaxation of the free markers and the Neel relaxation of the bound markers. Usefulness of the present method is demonstrated from the detection of the biological targets, such as biotincoated polymer beads, IgE and Candida albicans. key words: liquid-phase immunoassay, magnetic marker, Brownian relaxation, Neel relaxation, B/F separation, SQUID

Improved Liquid-Phase Detection of Biological Targets Based on Magnetic Markers and High-Critical-Temperature Superconducting Quantum Interference Device

In this paper, we propose improved methods of liquidphase detection of biological targets utilizing magnetic markers and a high-critical-temperature superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). For liquid-phase detection, the bound and unbound (free) markers are magnetically distinguished by using Brownian relaxation of free markers. Although a signal from the free markers is zero in an...

Magnetic Marker and High Tc Superconducting Quantum Interference Device for Biological Immunoassays

Magnetic immunoassays utilizing magnetic marker and high Tc superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) have been performed. In this magnetic method, binding-reaction between an antigen and its antibody is detected by measuring the magnetic field from the magnetic marker. First, we discuss the magnetic property of the marker, and show that Fe3O4 particles with diameter of 25 nm can be u...

The set-up of an high temperature superconductor radio-frequency SQUID microscope for magnetic nanoparticle detection

SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) microscopes are versatile instruments for biosensing applications, in particular for magnetic nanoparticle detection in immunoassay experiments. We are developing a SQUID microscope based on an HTS rf SQUID magnetometer sensor with a substrate resonator. For the cryogenic set-up, a configuration was realized in which the cryostat is continuous...

Magnetic properties of photosynthetic materials - a nano scale study

Photosynthetic materials form the basis of quantum biology. An important attribute of quantum biology is correlation and coherence of spin states. Such correlated spin states are targets of static magnetic field. In this paper, we report magnetic properties and spectroscopically realizable static magnetic field effect in photosynthetic materials. Two classes of nano-scale assembly of chlorophyl...
